Allxon On-Prem OOB Utility Tool  

 

Allxon on-prem OOB Utility Tool streamlines the administration of Out-of-Band (OOB) Enablers from host machines. This tool is a portable application which enables users to manually manage OOB Enablers within an intranet environment.

 

 

 


 


1. Getting Started


1.1 Environment Setup

 

Allxon on-prem OOB Utility Tool serves as a centralized management system, enabling users to control multiple OOB Enablers simultaneously. Connect the host machine and OOB Enablers to a router to establish communication within the intranet. Ensure the OOB Utility Tool is installed on the host machine to get started.

 

 

Requirements:

 

1. A Windows 10 or Windows 11 host machine connected to the same intranet.

2. x64 & x86  Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages must be installed. Check here to learn how to install them.

 

Note: Please ensure that the firewall settings allow the program to function properly. You must add it to the exception list; otherwise, it will not be able to access OOB Enablers.

 

 

 

 


1.2 Get the Allxon On-Prem OOB Utility Tool

 

On the host machine, download the Allxon on-prem OOB Enabler Utility Tool by executing the following command. Alternatively, you can download the file directly and transfer it to the host machine.

  1. 1.    To switch to On-Prem OOB, please contact our team at service@allxon.com.
  2. 2.   OOB Enabler is in the same subnet intranet with the host machine.
  3. 3.   The router is capable of assigning DHCP to OOB Enablers and host machine.

1.3 Set up the Allxon On-Prem OOB Utility Tool

 

After downloading the file, extract the installation package. Once installed, you’re ready to start using the Allxon on-prem OOB Enabler Utility Tool.

Click the desktop icon to launch the tool, and the following interface will appear.

 

 

 

 


 


2. Interface Overview

Here is the interface introduction of  the Allxon on-prem OOB utility tool:

  Scan Device: Search for all OOB Enablers in the intranet.

  Group Action: Enables batch operations on multiple OOB Enablers.

  Search Bar: Search for a device by serial number or tags.

2 OOB Enablers List

  Displays essential information of OOB Enablers.

3 Dropdown Menu

  Right-click on an OOB Enabler to open the Dropdown Menu. Here are options:

  •   Power Switch: Turn the device on or off.
  •   Power Off: Force the device to shut down.
  •   Power Reset: Restart the device.
  •   View Details: Display detailed information about the OOB Enabler.
  •   Add Tags: Assign descriptive tags for easier organization.
      Delete: Remove the device from the tool.
4 Device Count

  Show the total number of OOB Enablers currently listed.

 

 


 


3. How to Use

3.1 Search for Available OOB Enablers

3.3.1 Search for OOB Enablers 

Click the "Scan Device" button in the toolbar.

 

Note:

 

1. This tool currently supports scanning up to 10 devices. To increase the limit, feel free to contact our team at service@allxon.com.

2. If you’d like to switch to a different domain to scan the OOB Enabler, please restart the Utility Tool (Allxon swiftDR Utility.exe) before proceeding.

3. Please note that the Scan Device action will overwrite any previous scan results.

 

 

 

The tool will detect and list all available OOB Enablers in the intranet.

 

3.3.2 Add OOB Enablers Manually

Click the Add Device button and enter the OOB Enabler's Serial Number and IP Address. You can also optionally add Tags. 


  1. After adding the OOB Enablers, please confirm the details in the list.

Note:

 

1. Connect the Agent by establishing a secure WebSocket (WSS) connection to the WSS server at wss://[OOB IP address]:55688.

 

 

 


 

3.2.1 Power Control Action for a Device

  1. Right-click on a device in the OOB Enablers List. Select an action from the Dropdown Menu.
  2.  
    • Power Switch: Toggle the device’s power on/off.
    • Power Off: Force Shutdown the device.
    • Power Reset: Restart the device.

3.2.2 Group Action 

  • Select multiple devices using the checkboxes on the left. Click the Group Action button and choose an action (e.g., Power Reset) to apply it to all selected devices.
